How would you like to exist in an environment, where use of electricity was unknown and people had never heard about, how it feels to switch and light up a bulb to a room or any other place? This was the world Nikola Tesla was born into, on July 10, 1856 in the small village of Smiljan in region of Croatia. Even from his childhood, Tesla was always involved in innovations and discoveries which paved way in transforming electrical technologies from Direct Current (DC) to Alternating Current (AC).
Where Should We Look for the Early Sparks of Genius?
The interest in electricity was developed with time and even in his childhood, Tesla had ideas on the subject. This is perhaps why in later interviews he would fondly relate how his mother, Georgina who invented small household appliances had been his inspiration. Tesla, who originally trained as an electrical engineer in Austria and Prague in the 1880s, sought the New World on only $10 in his pocket, a letter of introduction, and an idea that would change the world.
